FIRST RATE CURRICULUM

 Reading and writing are so important to each student's education.
Students will learn the alphabet, be able to recognize the spelling of their name, and develop basic writing skills.  It is very fulfilling and boosts confidence for children to have the ability to recognize and write their own names before Kindergarten! 

 Every day your child will learn and practice new conversational words in Spanish and develop a bilingual vocabulary. All the activities during the day will be in both Spanish and English.    Children who are exposed early to other languages display more positive attitudes to the cultures associated with those languages. The experience of learning a language introduces them to the world in ways they might otherwise have not experienced. 

 Your child will participate in many discovery science experiments.  These experiments will give your child the opportunity to discover and connect to the world around them.

 We will dedicate time each day to developing basic math skills and critical thinking. 

 The day at Sunlight Bilingual Preschool starts with reciting the days of the week, the months of the year, and the pledge of allegiance. During this time, we will practice healthy habits such as hand washing, combing our hair and we will talk about exercise and the Food Pyramid. We have singing time and the class will learn fun educational songs that we will perform for family and friends at a Christmas and End-of-Year Performance. 

 Creative expression is so important in each child's development. Each day we will create crafts and art projects.  Our students will receive classes of yoga, music and movement, and kitchen on a weekly basis.

It's important to us because we want them to grow a higher level of self-importance and also to practice celebrate other's milestones.

We celebrate every student's birthday even if their birthday is during the summer break months.

Our programs are enriched through the inclusion of five carefully planned field trips during the school year. These field trips are not only fun but also provide very valuable learning experiences for our students and their families.
